Q: What is your mission statement?

A: All teams will play fairly and to the best of their ability while having fun.

Q: What is the description of the organization?

A: The OLA is a non-profit sports organization encouraging children from ages 5 - 16 to participate in this, our national sport, which is, fast paced, intense, competitive, and team minded.

Q: How big is your organization?

A: OLA has grown in Olds from a membership of 60 to over 100 in a season, and each season starts with conditioning and introductory camps in March to league games beginning in April and concluding with play-offs as well as provincials toward the end of June into the beginning of July. Tournaments are organized by various leagues and invite other leagues to participate during this lacrosse season as well.

Q: What is your fund-raising goal?

A: OLA balances its costs for membership registration by having their members do fund raisers in a variety of ways, (e.g.) car wash, bottle drive, raffle tickets, and registration draw. OLA also has businesses advertise with them in a brochure, on banners in the home arena, and the web page all for a minimal cost. The Town of Olds service groups are approached and have been generous in their support towards this community sports organization. The funds raised off set the cost of floor space, referees, office supplies, equipment, and promotions.

Q: What will your sponsorship dollars buy?

A: When your business takes a sponsorship role with OLA it receives advertising in a variety of ways. The business card will be displayed in the information brochure as well as on the web page, and a banner can be displayed in the home arena during the season on a annual renewal cost, and the sponsors have the opportunity to have a logo put on jerseys for a team. This unique exposure for businesses is lucrative for both parties involved.
