RAM RIVER PIPLELINE OUTFITTERS LTD. is an owner operated company specializing in polyurethane foam application in the oil-field industry, with pipelines being our priority.

Prior to Ram River’s inception in 1986, Bob DeLong and Sheldon Foss both worked in the pipeline industry.  With their extensive experience, they understand how deadlines must be met without jeopardizing the integrity of the work.  Ram River has worked on projects of all magnitudes, with pipe dimensions from 2” Fuel Gas to 60” Hydro Lines.

RAM RIVER PIPELINE OUTFITTERS LTD. uses the most up-to-date equipment available for spray foam applications.  All our trucks are 4X4s and for areas that cannot be traversed by trucks we also have skid mounted foam units that can be quickly mounted on Nodwell trailers.  For insulated lines that require sandblasting we have two mobile units.

When keyed into the existing pipeline ditch our Polyurethane Erosion Barriers provide the support needed to keep ditch lines and hill sides in place.  They are also crucial in diverting water off R.O.W.

In rocky terrain, Polyurethane Foam is also used for pipe protection.  (Rockshield) The pipe is usually lowered in on top of foam pillows.  (pre-formed or sprayed in place)  Normally, 50mm of foam is applied to protect it during the backfill process, in severe conditions the thickness of foam may be increased.

On insulated pipe we have developed a mould that when injected will give a completely sealed joint.  This process helps eliminate the problem of external corrosion.

Step 1:  Clean joint

Step 2:  Pre-heat and prime joint

Step 3:  Install internal corrosion barrier

Step 4:  Check for jeeps in coating

Step 5:  Install mould and inject Polyurethane

Step 6:  Remove mould and install external corrosion barrier.

Note:  Steps may vary depending on procedures.  This process is also available for hot bends and risers.
